Tobar an Léinn is a small 6 teacher primary school located in the village of Raheen, Co. Laois, Ireland.
We are learning how to incorporate different shapes and levels into our dances in PE, as well as dancing in time with the music and in sync with our partners. Are you impressed with our moves??

This week we created our own African Safari pictures. Firstly, we chose an animal print for our frames. We then used oil pastels to create our beautiful, glowing sunsets. We then cut out some silhouettes of African animals on black card and stuck them onto the sunsets. We are delighted with how they turned out. This week we learned all about 2D shapes, lines and angles in Maths. We went on a hunt on the yard and marked out loads of parallel lines, perpendicular lines, right angles, acute angles, obtuse angles and straight angles with chalk. They are everywhere!! We also drew lots of 2D shapes to figure out if they tessellated or not. We learned that semi-circles and circles don't tessellate, but we can make cool patterns with triangles, hexagons, squares, rectangles, parallelograms and rhombuses because they do tessellate.
